• Started the Oakland County Microloan Program to help area small businesses create and protect jobs
• Created the Oakland County Safe Drinking Water Program that replaced old school drinking fountains with new filtrated water hydration stations to protect against lead and other contaminants
• Launched the Oakland Better with Breakfast providing universal breakfast to thousands of Oakland County students daily
• Secured $1 million for the construction of Normandy Oaks
• Led efforts to raise the minimum wage and guarantee paid sick time for Michigan workers
• Oakland County Democratic Party Chairman, 2002-2008
• Founding President of Oakland Health Plan, Inc. (2007-2014), providing health care to over 5000 Oakland County low-income residents
• Board of Directors, Cornerstone Community Financial Credit Union
• Trainer and leadership development expert for hundreds of organizers, advocates, candidates, and public elected officials to become effective champions for change in their respective communities
